Day 01 of Dong Bang Madness: Last Fangirl Standing

Armed with our multi-fandom-filled resume, I, along with friends, were up to the challenge of a new crowd. Expecting the worst but definitely hoping for the best, we thought our mad fangirl skills and experiences were enough to make us last those almost five grueling hours. Whatever we faced though exactly a week ago was beyond what we bargained for. If not for our patience and devotion, we could have died then and there. Literally. A death trap, really. No kidding.

Me, my sister gracie_grace and baby_jin were already on our 2nd day then while eyecatcher_101, jhing_tearjerky, moonstruck2133 and xiao_tian_jelly were only on their first. Knowing the scheduled Press Conference on the 26th, we have already worked around our entire day for this event, aside from checking-out of the Take A Nap Hostel where we originally stayed at around lunch time to moving in to Dusit just two blocks away for an early check-in. With the chance to see Dong Bang Shin Ki again in person after almost a year and half, I tell you, I was way beyond excited.

Bangkok Heat is hotter than Manila's but bearable. The sun was all high. No clouds in sight. Not humid at all. Taking the BTS from Sala Daeng to Siam, I was pretty anxious on what awaits us at CentralWorld. I didn't even realize my forehead was already coverered with sweat. After strolling a long walkway from the station, finally getting to the venue at around 2 PM, seeing a sea of red almost everwhere, I had butterflies in my stomach. OMG. This is it.

After saying some things in Korean, posing for the cameras and waving here and there, they were out. And the crowd dispersed in less than a minute. Amazing. I honestly was relieved to get some air. Me and the rest of the girls already anticipated that we'd get separated from each other with the mad crowd and all so we agreed to meet at Starbucks just across the street after the event. Then, none of the girls was in sight so I decided to proceed to the meeting place as discussed. And as I was in the middle of the street, crossing my way to the other side, girls started screaming. Three vans, apparently carrying the boys and their entourage, were fast approaching. Right there and then, it hit me. Years passed and a couple of attempts after, I really was in Bangkok. Just to see them five and their awesomeness. If this ain't love, I don't know what else to call it.

Now, because almost everyone in the office is paranoid with the still spreading A(H1N1), I've been on self-quarantine since I got back last Wednesday. Mandatory 10-Day Quarantine for anyone coming back from a trip abroad, work-related or not. On my 3rd day today, I am working from home having meetings and stuff via Conference Calls. I am fine though. Still no voice but not sick at all. PH and KL Friends are reported to be though, feverish with colds and flu-like symptoms. What's worse is there are Thais positively confirmed to have contracted the virus in some Korean Boyband Concert they attended over the weekend. The same one me and friends attended for 2 nights in a row. Oh no. I heard symptoms manifest late for some. As a precaution, I am on self-quarantine until I don't know when. Take care, everyone. And Jung Yunho. I am not sick but I blame you for all the heat I'm feeling right now. "Checkmate" on replay since I got back. And I can clearly picture you doing that sexy move. Oh. Please let me be and leave me alone. x_x

Captivating. Exhausting. Overwhelming. Those 3 days of Dong Bang Shin Ki are surely must-adds to the most exhilirating fangirl experiences ever. ♥

Seeing them five fine boys sooo close only left me craving for more. When will this madness end? Only time can tell. T_T

Looking back, I am just happy and thankful to have had all those opportunities. We're only halfway into the year and there are still a couple more venues lined-up in the tour. Where to go to next? Hmmm. Let's see. ^^;

Runny nose. Feeling a bit chilly and nausiated ocassionally. Panic Packing. 2 medium-sized luggages done. Typhoon "Feria" said to be on its way 8-ish tonight. Just in time for the flight. Perfect. Stressed beyond words. T_T

Three versions after, the trend seemed to say I am into the silent and aloof one. Until the Korean came. Suprisingly enough, that spoiled and conceited character gets me too. And now, even after the series has ended months ago, seeing almost every version out there, here I am still hooked. Blame it to this adorably handsome guy for making me love Goo Jun Pyo and letting me like someone younger than I am this much all over again. And for all these, here it goes. ^^;

The application I'm managing has been having intermittent unavailability issues since early morning yesterday. No power at home due to outages since late last night. No choice but to go to the office on a Work From Home Day. And since I was supposed not to leave the house, I have no shuttle scheduled to safely bring me home. Now, stuck in the office due to heavy downpour and flooding outside. Yey! Today's just proving to be one of the most "lucky" days ever. T_T

Seriously, I adore David Cook to bits. ♥ Particularly during the latter half of American Idol Season 7, I see to it that I get to watch his every performance and go download his song, both recorded and live, as soon as they get released. And really, he got me with his version of "Always Be My Baby". ^^;

I think I got more hooked after he officially became America's 7th Idol. Immediately adding him in his Official Myspace Account after his win, with less than a hundred friends back then, it was a suprise to me that he quickly accepted my request and even included me in his Top Friends List. And suprisingly, until now, I still am. T_T

When I first heard the news he was just surprised with how much his fanbase in Manila is, with the success of his "Always Be My Baby", and was interested to pay a visit, I was just teary-eyed ecstatic. From the rumored January to being moved officially to May, I was happy that my Dear David is sure to come and sing for me. Some months back, I assured myself, I'm gonna make things happen. Well. That's what I initially planned. -_-

Maybe because I just have sooo much going on with my life, work, other fandoms and everything else, the weeks and months passed me by without me realizing the big event's just around the corner. Magic 89.9, GMA 7 Studio, EDSA Shangri-La and SM North EDSA would have been incredibly easy Meet 'n Greet chances for me. And yes, both Davids are checked-in just across the street, a pedestrian crossing away from my office building. But... NO. All the amount of resources, contacts and opportunities I have, which I only get to realize the other day, simply got wasted and went down the drain. As I've told jhing_tearjerky while wallowing in my own sort of "mess", this is sooo depressing. Where have all my fangirl stalking skills luck gone?! T_T

And so, tonight's the NIGHT. Instead of me spending a paycheck or two just so I can go and see him somewhere else, here he is, already in Manila, coming a long way and going through miles. If not for xiao_tian_jelly, I probably won't have the chance to see him perform live. And sad to say, I haven't familiarized myself with his entire solo album yet which I only downloaded over the net. What's wrong with me?! x_x

I know for a fact though that my David Roland Cook won't disappoint me later. He'll surely swoon me all over again, even knock me over my feet. Standing tickets, Baby! Expecting the worst but definitely hoping for the best. Some effort but definitely worth it. Now, let me get back and pimp myself some David A. & David C. Songs. Lots of catching up to do. Oh. ♥
